Raleigh’s biggest party is of course The Works, starting downtown at noon. Performances, food trucks, plenty of vendors and stuff for kids all culminating with a spectacular fireworks show at 9:30!
If you’re looking for a more traditional affair, head no further than the NC State Capitol. This patriotic celebration includes a naturalization ceremony, a reading of the Declaration of Independence and a sweet, low-key (it’s adorable!) children’s parade at 2pm.
How about time traveling back to 1776? You can, right off Morgan Street! The Joel Lane Museum House hosts a remarkable fete: costumed docents and living historians invite you to participate in hand-on activities (kids love it!) and demonstrate various aspects of colonial life. It’s free and open to the public from 11 to 4.
Of course, all weekend long there are events and fireworks all over the Triangle area, mostly free and all fun! And if you get curious about real estate this weekend? You know who to call! Happy Fourth!
